Identificación de aislados de Bacillus spp. mediante cromatografía gaseosa de los ésteres metílicos de ácidos grasos (FAME)

Abstract
Fatty acids profiles from six Bacillus spp. isolates were determined by gas chromatographic. The fatty acids methyl esters (FAME) analysis let identified two isolates as B. subtilis, another one was grouped in Bacillus genus and the rest were included into B. cereus group. Although FAME analysis did not allowed species differentiation, it facilitated the bacterial spectrum classification of isolates. Even though the FAME analysis allows identification at species level in some cases and not for others, the technique is used by numerous laboratories for routine based identifications of bacteria, because it has a potential for species differentiation within the genus Bacillus and it is very useful as first line identification system.
