Abstract

Genera Xenorhabdus and Photorhabdus comprise symbiotic bacteria that live associated with entomopathogenic nematodes Steinernema and Heterorhabditis, respectively. Phase dissociation process occurs in these bacteria when growth in vitro. This becomes very critical due to nematodes mode of action creating better conditions for their reproduction. Since death larva of Galleria mellonella L. infected to entomopathogenic nematodes Heterorhabditis indica strain P2M, Heterorhabditis bacteriophora strain HP88 and Steinernema cubanum, symbiotic bacteria Photorhabdus luminescens (P-01), (P-02) and Xenorhabdus sp. (X-01) were isolated. Adsorption dyes in Mc. Conkey agar and NBTA agar, lecithin, lipase, protease activity and flagella presence were characteristics of isolates primary phase. Every isolates showed antibiotic activity opposite to Micrococcus luteus.
