Desarrollo del manejo agroecológico de plagas en los sistemas agrarios de Cuba

Abstract
Pests management in Cuba has passed by several stages in which different control methodologies have been used; the developing of alternatives to chemical agents were begun after the creation of plant health state service in 1973-1974, initiated with the diagnosis and signalling systems, continued by biological fight program and integrated pests management later, until arriving to the present phase in which the agroecological pests management was adopted in generalized way, and in which the chemical pesticides are used under a real necessity only. Some elements that sustain factors that have contributed to the development of agroecological management of plagues in the Cuban agrarian systems are exposed in the present article.
