Abstract

With the objective of selecting a culture media for the isolation of Trichoderma spp., that allow the processing a high volume of samples, as well as to know the species present in the soils of Pineapple Enterprise in Ciego de Ávila, was carried up a work at Bioplants Center in Ciego de Ávila University. Samples from the bioactive part of the soil were taken to laboratory and processed to obtain dilutions; they were then placed on Petri dishes that contained culture media water-agar, potato-agar-dextrose, rice straw, casuarina sawdust and sugar cane bagasse. The plates were incubating for 72 h to 25°C and a complete darkness, for its next isolation and identification to a genus and species level, and also to do the corresponding pathogenic test. It was proved that the natural substratum of rice straw was the best among all the tested media for the isolation of Trichoderma spp., with a slight contamination and a good colonization level. It was determined that Trichoderma viride, Pers. Fr, Trichoderma atroviride Bissett and Trichoderma aureoviride Rifai are present in areas dedicated to pineapple production, which are not pathogens to this fruit plants. This work is the first information about T. atroviride and T. aureoviride in the country
