Abstract
A laboratory and natural conditions experience was developed to determine the most important characteristics and duration time of Diabrotica balteata Le Conte life states. It was found that it was the first plague species that impacted in the experimental area and the duration of life cycle delayed 56 to 65 days, from the appearance of the eggs until the adult emersion, with temperatures of 24, 7 to 26,1oC and relative humidity of 76 to 78%. Measurements were executed with a lineal scale micrometer and were processed statistically.
